So touching...

Some good friends of ours has a daughter that lost her boyfriend in the tragedy that occured here Saturday. The young man was also the son of a neighbor and one of the best kids you could ever hope to meet. Somebody that she doesn't even know made her this video. Warning: if you know these kids, it WILL definately make you cry....

You can see it here:

And this is one of most fitting tributes I've seen for the Boys in Red at the crash site....

A Community in Mourning....

The absolute worst thing a parent can imagine occurred early this morning about 12am. The Bathurst High School Boys Varsity Basketball team were travelling home from games in Moncton and were hit by a tractor trailer. Seven boys & 1 teacher chaperone were killed. Three students and a BHS teacher (who was the coach) were injured. The 3 surviving students are all in the hospital. The teacher is just in total shock...his wife was the teacher chaperone that was killed and his daughter is in ICU.

I dropped my daughter off at the school at 9am this morning to be with her friends and the people coming together is unbelievable!! Most of the district teachers are at the school along with extreme grief counselors and parents. The kids are naturally devastated and it's affecting most of the community in one way or another. Besides my daughter attending the school, we know three of the families affected by this tragedy. I cannot even imagine what or even how they are dealing with this.
My thoughts and prayers are with them.

What do I hear??? NOTHING!!!....LOL...well, 'cept for CNN. The punks are back in school!! YAYYYYY! No more bickering, no more "Mom, I'm bored". Heaven. Absolute heaven. They actually went back yesterday, but I was too busy doing Kristine's dork dancin' :) while cleaning up....didn't even touch the computer. Not even PSP....nope. Nada. Oh, and trying to get laundry done of course *sigh* But when I got up this morning and checked the weather, this is what I saw

I thought for sure they'd cancel school...they didn't :) But I am SO ready for many more days?? 80 something? *sigh* The pool's melting though...LOL...not a real good time of year for that!

I did manage to get some more layouts done this weekend though....

After The Holidays....

So I've finally got everything Christmas-y put away!! Yay me!!...LOL...but did you ever notice how little Christmas gifts seem to find their way around the house?? The punks leave EVERYTHING laying around....I shouldn't says punkS plural, more like the youngest punk leaves everything laying around....

I don't think he can walk down the stairs to put things away in his room. Something must be wrong with his legs :p So I'm trying to clean around everything. Not fun. PUNKS!!! And did you notice in the pictures....

This has GOT to be the nosiest cat alive! Never mind the attitude he has but whenever I pick up the camera, he's right behind me. I know he's cute but COME ON!! I'd like some pictures WITHOUT him in them *sigh* And I finally got my computer desk set up the way I want it...LOL...After moving it around a few times, it went right back to where it was to begin with! I made a few purchases in 2007...LOL...seems everytime G. comes home we have something new...well, not really but it just seems that way. A truck, a laptop, a camera, a new desk...hmmm...shouldn't say that....he bought the truck. WHY? Because I wanted to. But hey, I'm alone with the punks 6 months out of the year, was tired of fighting with them over the desktop so I got a laptop. Need something to do to keep my frickin' sanity :) Everytime I went to take a picture, I couldn't because the oldest punk had her camera with her at school or where ever so I got a camera (it was on sale, does that count?)...and I was tired of moving the laptop off the table everytime mealtime rolled around or somebody came in, so I got the desk (it was on sale too :) Oh yeah, and an EHD....but only because I don't want to clutter up the new laptop with all the pics from my new camera & the pages that I scrapbook with them :) So here's the end result....

My own little space...the punks are trying to take this over too but I am NOT having any of THAT!!! They have the rest of the house :( But *rollin' eyes* I still have to share my own little space....

They can barely fit in there now and they're only 6 mos old. It should be interesting the next few months. Everytime I sit down, they paw at the drawer until I lower the front of it. Lord help me.

So that's about it....gonna go and try to finish some more laundry *sigh* no sign of my brother yet so I'm thinking that I may have to call PITA. Dang. Nuff said. Have a great day!!!

Just Some Fun Stuff...

You Are a Strawberry Margarita

You're so sweet it's a little overwhelming, and people are a little afraid of corrupting you...
It's a little difficult to imagine you with a margarita. And you're truly a different person after you've kicked back a couple!

What Alice Means

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You Were Pretty Average This Year

You Were 45% Naughty, 55% Nice

You tried to be a good girl in 2007...
But as you know, being good isn't that fun!
If you're extra sweet, you may have enough time to get on that nice list.

I Almost Forgot....

You HAVE to check out this blog. She is just too funny!! And her recipes are dang good too!! Tried the Marlboro Man sandwich the other day and it is to die for!! I think hubby would actually like it. She also calls her kids PERFECT is that!!! Such a fitting description. Thanks Ree!! I now have punks too!!!....LOL...

Just Because....

Why did I start this blog....dunno. Just because!!! Mostly for my digital scrapbooking. I don't really like uploading to galleries but like to show some family & friends how I used their pictures...LOL...sometimes that is not always a good thing. Will I update it every day...probably not. I also figured it'd be a good way to catch up with other people if they're even remotely interested in finding out what we're doing. Plus the fact that hubby works away from home 3 weeks at a time so maybe he can use it to see what we're up to :) If you can check Facebook almost every day hon, you can check the BLOG!!

So what's been going on since the holidays?? Not too dang much, I'll tell ya that! Had a great day on Sunday though....Kimmy was in town...yayyyyyy! For those not in the know, Kimmy is one of the bestest friends of all time :) Yep, completely sucking up here...LOL...Look what she brought me....*sigh*.....and that's only ONE bag - she brought TWO :) Should keep me going until G gets home.

What else...hmmm...dropped G. off at the airport early - and I mean EARLY - Monday morning, came home and vegged out with the kids for the rest of the day. Did absolutely nothing for New Year's Eve. I could not even stay awake to see midnight...LOL. First time in I don't know how many years. We usually have a bunch of people over here to celebrate. It was kind of a miserable night anyway with all the snow. Speaking of that, WHAT is up with all the snow we've been getting....grrrr....I hate it! Tuesday was ok, but take a look at Wednesday....

The first one was taken at 7:30 am, the other about noon (Don't mind the awful pics...still trying to figure out the settings on the new camera. I will get better. I hope). I ended up taking Shane to WalMart Thursday morning and the roads were miserable. We were lucky if we saw any bare pave...LOL....perfect excuse for a Timmy's break :) So today is just a laundry day....But speaking of laundry. Have you ever tried to get laundry done with a dryer THAT DOESN'T WORK???? And with a wind chill of -27c I am NOT hanging clothes on the line thankyouverymuch! I called my brother - J1 - to see if he could come & take a look at it....his last shift is tonight so he said he'll be up on the weekend. If he doesn't show up, I think I'm gonna talk to Kirk (hubby's good friend) and see if he knows anything about them...and just to let you know Kirk will now be known as PITA - pain in the a$$ - cuz that's just what he is. Plain and simple. We love to hate each other. He just ticks me off sometimes. Well, not really - but don't tell him that. Might upset the delicate balance of our relationship. ROFL...
Ok, that about it...gonna go and see if the 2nd load of clothes is's only been about 3 hrs or so since I've been trying to dry them *sigh*....later....
